Change the World-Lyric Analysis

"Baby if I could change the world" I agree with Eric Clapton, we should change the world(even though it's in a different way). The song "Change The World" is about some one who would do anything for someone else so he'll "be the sunlight in"their "universe". I think that you can relate to the book Small Steps. I also think that this song connects to Eric Clapton life and love. And I can relate this to myself because I really want to change the world.

I can relate this song to the relationship between Kaira and Theodore because they loved each other. "that this love inside me is everything it seems", Kaira thought that Theodore only wanted to be with her because she had money, not because he had feelings for her. And when that happened Theodore wanted to prove to her that he really loved her. Also, I think that this song can relate to the relationship between Theodore and...X-ray! Yes, this sounds kind of funny but it does. "If I could reach the stars I'd pull one down for you..." This connects to every time that X-ray says he has the best plan there has ever been. For example when X-ray was telling Theodore about ticket scalping, he had said that it was the best thing in the whole world and that it would make him a whole lot of money.

I think the song "Change the World" can relate to Eric Clapton life and love. For example when Eric Clapton was with Lory Del Santo, Eric Clapton's former wife, they are divorced. But before when they had just been married they loved each other. Eric Clapton would promise her promise her everything she wanted and "would be the sun light in your universe."

I think that this song can relate to me in only one way. I want to "Change the world"
I want to change the world by recycling and counting less on fossil fuels. In this song Eric Clapton wants to change the world to be with someone special to him. "but for now I find this only in my dreams" For me it's really hard just to stop global warming, it's only in my dreams. In the lyrics before this line it says "If i could be king for a day" thats what Eric Clapton dreams about because it really hard to just be a king.

After this analysis I see how I connect to this song. Before, when I got the song, I thought it was just a random song that Mr.Talner chose for me, it wasn't much at my apeal. Now I pay a lot of atention to the lyrics not the music. So when I'm listening to a song I make sure that the song actually connects to me because I know thats when I like the song better.
I learned how to compare the most irregular things for example a song's lyrics to a story in a book.
I think this project was great!

"SLOW HAND"

Eric Patrick Clapton, one of the guitar legends. When Eric Clapton first got a guitar in when he turned fifteen, he could not play so he almost gave up, but he tried and tried until he became a very good guitar player. He joined his first band in about 1960 ,"The roosters" not so popular. Eric Clapton is known for being a great musician, writing great lyrics and doing great guitar solo's such as "In The Presence Of The Lord". Eric Clapton has been in MANY bands, The Roosters, Casey Jones and the Engineers The Yardbirds, John Mayall & Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, Derek and the Dominoes, he has been solo. Some of his most famous songs are "Me and Mr.Jonson", "Change the World", "Layla", and "For your Love".

Eric Clapton has played all types of music going from Blues to Regge and pop because of the many bands. Most of his lyrics are about big things that have happened in his life for example "Tears in Heaven" he writes about his son. Eric Clapton really loves the Blues so thats one of his great insperations. Eric Clapton admires people like Bob Marley, Bo Diddley and Bob Dylan, Freddie King, B.B. King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin and primarily Robert Johnson. Something funny about Eric Clapton is that he is also called "slow hand" because when he breacks a string on stage he fixes it himself while the croud claps slowly.

Eric Clapton was on a comeback playing with many people such as Roger Waters, George Harrison, Phil Collins, Daryl Hall, Chaka Khan, Mick Jones, David Sanborn and Robert Cray, and Michael Kamen

Eric Clapton-Change the World

If I could reach the stars I'd pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart so you could see the truth
That this love I have inside is everything it seems
But for now I find it's only in my dreams
CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
If I could be king even for a day
I'd take you as my queen I'd have it no other way
And our love will rule in this kingdom we have made
Till then I'd be a fool wishin' for the day
CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world
- GUITAR SOLO -
CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world
